Work, Play... What's The Other Thing??
Nov. 2nd, 2006 12:41 pmFor someone who resigned at the beginning of September, I still seem to be doing a lot of work for the Ranch. Especially in the last week or so - it's been really busy!!
Most of it's my own doing, some of it's my own fault for letting things slide into the "I'll do that tomorrow' basket, which then fills up with stuff that all of a sudden needs to be done at the same time as all this other new stuff I've been winning for the team.
End result: Moments of panic, callous prioritisation & some fast, smooth talking on the phones.
Appeared live in front of an audience (albeit a small one) for the first time in about a year last night, as a "special guest" of an erstwhile singer & her guitarist beau. My thanks to SarinG, UnknownB & some non-LJ people for turning up & making a weird crowd a little saner. We'll see what the next 4 Wednesdays bring.
All my friends are leaving town too- for Tasmania, Tamworth, Thailand... "Here I am, the only living boy in New York..."
Well, you get the idea.
Melbourne job interview this afternoon via video conference. These are always a little disconcerting - alone in a boardroom with a camera & 2 plasma screens at the other end of the table. One of which shows the person you're talking to, the other shows you... all with about a 2 second time delay, which can be distracting.
But I'll muddle through...
