One Less Crowded Hour
Oct. 29th, 2006 12:05 pmNo debris from the weekend this time - it's all been washed up... well, most of it.
Rehearsal yesterday for an upcoming JoshuaLee gig on Remembrance Day & a phone call from an erstwhile singer offering a weekly guest spot at the Hollywood Hotel every Wednesday in November. Most likely acoustic stuff, but should be fun. I have a mixed gig history at the Hollywood - some good, others... not so.
Saw an amazing band last night - True Live a mix of hip-hop, lounge & bebop jazz, contemporary classical & just straight out rock!! A 3 piece string section, NO GUITARS!!, an unhinged but brilliant keyboard player, funky drummer & an MC who managed to improvise a freestyle rap about zoology, relationships, Wookies, mangoes (![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
sarin_girl's suggestion) & one other thing I can't recall... god knows how he did.
Today my foil & I hooked up my new computer recording thingy, then it was off to waterways both natural (Oxford Falls) & man-made (Glebe Pt stormwater canal), for me to take some photos &sarin_girl to take hundreds... just because she can... for her latest photography class assignment. I lost a lens cap over a small waterfall, but gained some pretty nice shots with a minimum of rock-climbing.
All this & X-Men III tonight. Not bad for a 23 hour day.
