Imagine if this had been in California, where a gun-happy judge has just overturned the state ban on owning 'assault' rifles - the kid would have been shot in the chest half a dozen times & the outcome would be very different

The very name - assault rifle is enough to make you question so many things, not the least being why an ordinary citizen feels the need to own an assault weapon. The excuse that it's for 'self-defence' goes right out the window by definition alone

And as for a guy who thinks it's okay to pull a gun on someone he 'believes' is tailing him, well...

Guns don't kill people. People kill people? Sure, but what do you think they kill them with??!!

It pisses me off when "journalists" try to skew the story to blame the gun instead of the shooter with the "it accidently went off" phrase. Nope. It did not accidently go off. Dad fumbled his finger onto the trigger and shot his son.

Gun law in USA helps someone make profit, but it’s price for freedom from police government… if you ask me, would you like to live under police dictatorship or do you want to have ‘assault’ rifle then I will choose rifle… sorry…

Okay then... shoot at the police, if that's who you're afraid of. Stop shooting kids in schools, business employees & other innocent bystanders. Have a war against your government if you want, but you'll never convince me an AR15 is a 'self-defence' measure

And in a political system where everyone from Sheriff to President is elected, why not try galvanising people to vote for change. Political apathy is not a valid reason for gun ownership

Police don’t know how to protect me from crazy people who just lost his job and don”t know how to survive and want to do suicide and take with him so many people as he can and I want have AR15 and AKM-47 to protect my self from crazy people and crazy police. Why you don’t give me any chance to survive?

The whole "he's got a gun, I should get a gun" argument is not a solution to the problem, just an escalation of it. It's the kind of thinking that gets you where you are now, with Fathers shooting their kids

Restrict access to guns in general & 'assault' weapons in particular. It's worked everywhere else in the world where they've done it... why does the USA think it's so special & different that common sense just doesn't apply?!?!?!

Agreed is not solution, but before someone find solution I want have a gun, because without gun I’m a target and with a gun I’ll find solution for crazy police with PTSD or for crazy kid who want to do suicide after have been bullying…
