I think I've discovered a side-effect from one of my resolutions... maybe.

After a work-related training session in the Boondocks, I had dinner last night with friends from across both waters & borders at a Spanish restaurant in a not-so-secret location (the place was packed!!). I had my first alcoholic drinks in a while ~ just a couple ~ followed by dessert coffees/hot chocolates in Paddington. After couriering companions back to various accommodations, I hit bed about 11.30pm with the faintest trace of a headache...

Which has blossomed into full-fledged skull-thumping-don't-cough/sneeze-or-you'll-die glory overnight, leaving me praying for it to either dissipate by 2pm this afternoon, or for a mercifully quiet (& preferably kind of dark...) day before H&F come over this evening.

Was it the loud restaurant? The loud music in the restaurant? The glasses of Sangria? A combination of any or all? Or have I been so successful at detoxing over the last week that... no forget it... nobody detoxes that fast. Of course, it could also have been the new facts & figures bouncing around my brain from the training session. In which case, it's all Work's fault...

I'd give Junior's right arm for some Aspro Clear about now...

Here is my tip to you, my friend. The liver has remarkable powers of renewal. To aid your liver in its regeneration, drink this elixir: freshly juiced beetroot, celery and carrots. Optional: ginger, parsley or other greens in your fridge. 3 large glasses of that a day and your old fry will deal with anything. Of course it does taste like liquified dirt which could be improved by a shot or 2 or vodka. Resist that temptation. It's also amazing what your liver is able to cope with if is assisted by this brew.
And for today's hangover - why a B&E roll and a Coke of course.

A Second Opinion

Hmm... someone seems to think I have a hangover, which is not the case. A couple of restaurant-sized glasses of sangria do not constitute enough for a hangover... at least, not in my physiology. Given that I also had to drive home along some of the most policed roads in Sydney, there's no way I'd let my B/A level get past .05

And... having gone to bed with the beginnings of said headache & drinking my usual waters through the night, makes it even more unlikely this is alcohol-related. Far more likely causes include Sydney's dreaded humidity (of which my inability to deal with is well-known & documented), the stresses & worries I haven't quite divested myself of yet... or just 9 days in a row at work.

The Defence rests... with 2 more aspirin, another glass of water & a snappish attitude.
