Who Invented Early?!

What on earth am I doing at work at this time of day?
Partly rhetorical, but also because I had to let the painters in, so they could choke up the place with undercoat fumes. Again.
A busy day for me at home, which is why I'm at work (?). OBluV8's getting a thorough mechanical servicing (?!!) & Obtuse are supposed to be coming to connect my landline. Again. They were meant to do it about 12 days ago, but didn't get around to it, nor did they get around to telling me until I tried to use my phone & was puzzled by the lack of dialtone. The 'Customer Service Officer' with a Mumbai accent didn't seem too stressed about it & sent me on a (possibly international) telephonic tour of Obtuse's departments before I finally lost it with a 'Technical Services Officer' & made noises about wanting a word with someone higher up their foodchain. Then I got some action... This sort of thing makes me think longingly of Telstra & their outrageous charges... at least I could ring people when I wanted to.
The good news? I don't have to listen to that godawful 'Beautiful Music' CD today... there's no management here & I've brought my own beautiful CDs to pipe throughout the joint. I wonder if it will make the painters work faster?
