Sep. 30th, 2005 11:51 amWell, despite my blusterings about not taking a particular job, no matter how precarious the pecuniary situation got, it looks like I'll be taking it after all...
So, it's back to the wonderful world of corporate audio visual sales, with all of its cowboys (usually played by the company owner - & this one's no exception) & indians (the hapless sales staff who do all the dirty work for not much in the way of reward). As I write, I'm waiting for the cowboy - sorry, owner to call me back so we can thrash out the last parts of the package. I wonder how he'll react when I ask him for an extra 5 grand on top of either my salary or car allowance?
Pause for lunch with a friend...
And now - 2 hours later, still no phone call from the ranch manager. Hmmm...

In related news, an informal, shouted chat in a pub last night could provide me with an 11th hour 'get out of AV free' card at some point in the near future.
