Some Recluse...
Jun. 1st, 2005 11:23 pmSo much for hiding underground.
It's been an expensive week. Given that my dreams of fiscal favour remained just that during the job change, I need to be pretty careful for a fortnight. Spending $450 on the car yesterday was a necessary evil... I needed some tyres with grip... & a thorough wash (the car, not me...).
At least the gig I went to last night was free entry - as well it should have... the standard was not even up to a $5 fee. I had half a mind to gather 2 other members of the newest band & tell them to get themselves to Erskineville, as there was soon to be a vacancy on Tuesday nights we could fill with our eyes closed. Company was nice enough though...
Today, dreams of a night in were scuppered by the other guitarist from aforementioned band twisting my arm into a 'few' drinks at the local RSL, ostensibly in celebration of a mutual acquaintance's birthday. Lots of talk of cars, insurance, commercial furniture etc... I left when a laptop came out & the car photos were being shown...
And tomorrow I'm committed (or should be) to a gig at the Basement in town. My Joshua drummer's corporate band are doing a full gig... I'm afraid... Just walking into the Basement costs more money than I'm prepared to commit. Then there's the drink prices. However, I do have a decent collection of Guinness glasses from there... the price they charge for a can of draught Guinness includes the pint glass supplied with it, as far as I'm concerned. They get to keep the can after I'm finished...
'Sigh'. "All I want from living... is just to be left alone..." Wisest words Angry Anderson ever shrieked.
