Some Australian Christmas Classics for you on the Day...

Don't play this one too loud if there are kids in the house...

My home PC blue-screened itself to death 2 weeks ago, so I've been without my weapon of choice for a little while. It's at the Doctor's having a heart transplant - or at least an operating system overhaul...

So no new photos, other than those I've put on Instagram (Waitingman67), but just a quick update while there's time to snaffle computer time at work... Yes, I'm working on Boxing Day, which should be illegal... but the hordes of zombie shoppers roaming around the nearby Mall would probably disagree - though the unfortunate people behind the counters of the shops certainly wouldn't!!

No such hordes coming through our Showroom doors though, which doubly begs the question "Why am I here??"

In brief, then: Sydney's surrounds are still mostly on fire. The smoke haze hits town nearly every day & can reduce visibility to about 200m, which is fun to drive in... the other day, I turned on to the approaches to the Harbour Bridge, but couldn't see the bridge itself until I was almost on it, then couldn't see the other side of it 'til I got there. Amazingly, given how bad Sydney's drivers usually are, there hasn't been a massive spike in collisions - though I have given Laura's brakes an occasional stress test when someone in front of us does the unexpected... as expected

L-SP & I have survived the first half of the Christmas Family rituals. This year, it was my family first, which is sometimes amusing, often appalling & usually fodder for at least 6 months of backstabbing & malicious gossip among the Boomer & Y generation members. Those few of us who identify as Generation X alternately grit our teeth & have another drink 'til the gathering runs out of blood steam & we can GTFO... By comparison, L-SP's family are a peaceful, tolerant & witty bunch, the food is usually Asian & nowhere near as bloating, the drinks are better & not as desperately required & any drama is usually played out & dealt with discreetly. If it wasn't for 2 things - their predilection for Disney animated movies & the time & distance they are from WaitingManor, it would be a perfect day...

Speaking of which, we had a pre-Christmas dinner with L-SP's parents the other day, at a restaurant we'd never been to, which is worth a Journal entry on its own... If the (lack of) Sales traffic stays like this, I'll post about it soon...

Otherwise, to those of my scant readership on the other side of the Dateline, have a wonderful Christmas Day
