Sometimes I think I let people get away with a little too much.

Having your (soon-to-be-ex) boss compare you to his academically under-achieving 14 yr old daughter, simply because you don't remember the time of an appointment on Monday morning when he asks about it (it was entered in my work diary so I wouldn't have to remember it!!), is about one straw too many for this little black camel.

For a company with under 10 employees, these clowns have been on our backs to put everything we do into this completely unnecessary computer diary thing on our unreliable server that crashes more often than a dodgem car. And now that the practice has, by rote, reinforcement & repetition, replaced actual memory - or, at least, a planning whiteboard that everyone could see - the twerp gets uppity & really pathetically sarcastic about it when little details aren't at your total, instant, unerring recall. I might mention I had a head full of control system data & piles of equipment instructions all over my desk at the time... However, I merely nodded, accepting his diatribe without releasing any of the retorts straining to get past the caution circuits between mind & mouth

The 14th of July can't roll around fast enough - whether I have a new job in whichever city or not.

I used to have a good memory until...

I can remember phone numbers from years ago... yet I can't remember the name of someone I met less than a month ago. Whether this is a psychological thing, or just the sign of a full memory after too many years of stuff to remember, is up for debate.

I need a Pensieve. Or some kind of bio-cybernetic download facility.

Maybe just a Blackberry...
