Why aren't I tired??

Why am I still awake??

By now, some of you who read this will know that I've had about 4 or 5 hours sleep since Friday morning. Most of it this morning, when I got in about 4ish, but was up & about by 8. Let's not even talk about Friday night... & most of Saturday morning... except to say it was all Reynardo's fault... & Lederhosen...oh, & Shadow5tails... except she wimped out & went to bed early, or at least, earlier than the rest of us... I got home at 1pm on Saturday... just in time for a shower & band practice with Joshua.

Then, out on the town with Liz. Our original plan of going to the Basement to see Professor Groove (apparently a real professor... of Philososphy no less) & the Booty Affair, was waylaid by Tobias, who convinced us to come & see one of his other bands supporting the guitarist from the Whitlams - who was launching his solo album. Tobias's band showed some improvement, just not enough to stay for more than 5 minutes -we retreated to the lounge bar for most of the set. Not Tobias's fault... I just don't like the songs... or the singer... or the bass player for that matter... which just leaves an average keyboard player & a drummer - don't get me started on drummers.

The guitarist from the Whitlams - Jak Housden - was... well, I wasn't exactly blown away. Good solid blues/funk/R'n'B/countryish/folkish guitar based rock - just not anything that really struck me as groundbreaking or strikingly original. Liz really liked him, Tobias liked him... so maybe it's just me. I'm either really jaded, or I was really tired... or possibly a bit of both - you decide the proportions.

Anyway, home late, or early if you prefer, as previously stated. A movie (don't go to see the Thunderbirds!!) with an old school friend this morning, then Reynardo's extremely belated birthday party this afternoon. Then a bit of racing around here & there... then back to mine for the night.

Every hectic weekend should end with a screening of Pirates Of The Caribbean (one 'r' or 2?? - I never remember) & that's how mine did. I love that film... & my DVD has been on extended loan until Saturday afternoon, so I really enjoyed catching up with it this evening.

"You're off the edge of the map, mate... Here there be monsters!!"

"But... why's the rum gone??!!"
