When I'm 64
Sep. 16th, 2004 10:04 pmOlder people are just so easy to impress...
I was invaded this evening by my mother & one of her friends, who wanted me to 'look up on the computer thingy' for airline prices to Cairns & back. And so, the great cheap airfare website search commenced. Half an hour & several phone calls to the keeper of the credit card later, the deal was done, with about 9 pages of flight info printed out. Then we simply had to look up the friends house on LJ Hookers website (For $900,000 you too could live on Sydney's Northern Beaches) & print out EVERY photo the estate agent had taken... I mean... what for?? You already live there & have done for at least 35 years!!
The friend was impressed with my internet savvy & typing speed - both really average in comparison to a lot of you I know - & mother glowed with pride at her clever son...
I was just waiting for one of them to say "Isn't it marvellous what you can do nowadays?"
Somewhere in the middle of all that, I forgot to have dinner... oh well...
