"I ache, therefore I am... or I am, therefore I ache" Marvin the paranoid android, HHGTTG

I've had a headache for 2 days, a sore left hand for a day & a half, & both my heels feel like they've walked more than a mile in someone else's shoes... that are 3 sizes too small.

Ouch. Ouch, ouch ouch...

So, off to the doctor tomorrow morning at the unhealthy hour of 7.30am (ouch!!!)

Speaking of doctors .

As of this moment, my father has been wheeled out of the operating theatre & into recovery. Alive. Apparently the tumour on his colon had burst, which basically bathed his lower abdomen in poisonous, not to mention cancerous fluid. No wonder he'd been in a bit of pain last week!!

The specialist/surgeon has told us that he's "pretty sure" that all the cancer & fluid has been removed. It was a melanoma growth - which fits in with Father's past history.

The only disquieting news is that, apparently, they don't treat melanomas with subsequent chemotherapy, so the specialist's advice & prognosis is merely to "wait & see"... Personally, I would have liked something a bit more definite than that. It pretty much means that we can only "wait & see" if, indeed, all the cancer is gone. The thing that worries me is - they thought they'd got all of the last one & yet, here we are, almost exactly 2 years later with a bigger, badder, new & improved growth that burst!!!

I'll drop in & see him tomorrow afternoon, by which time they & we will probably know more.

Hopefully.

And finally, some advice... when trudging around a building site in the pouring rain, never assume that the rain puddle in front of you is only a centimetre deep because the ground is relatively level... And further... after you've failed to heed that advice once, don't ignore it a second time...

Note to self: remember to take suit to dry-cleaners tomorrow. And clean my boots.
