I really wonder... & I want to know the answer... but I'm almost 1000% certain I wouldn't like it...

What is the Republican/Religious Right's end game here? What is their vision for the USA's future? How is their increasingly violent & repressive agenda going to make America great again?

Because it seems to me that if you make it easier for everyone to get access to automatic weaponry, then proceed to persecute a proportion of the populace that, if banded together, would easily outnumber your support base, you're starting a war you can't possibly win...

And if you reduce the USA's international standing to that of a theocratic, feudal laughing stock, how does that keep you safe from the other, emerging global power-players? Who do these blinkered idiots think will step in to fill the vacant seat at the top of the table? Hint - it's unlikely to be anyone friendly to the USA...

So where do they see the USA in 5 years... 10... 50??

Maybe they think they are safe from the consequences because they are special? Or rich? I dunno. I don't think I want to know.

Well a lot of them would be safe from the consequences because they're old... & won't be around when the dust settles, to deal with the fallout - economic, social & possibly radioactive... That will be someone else's problem

What I see in 5 years and it is WWW III. Look to me today Ukrainian war like Spain war in 1936. So, next will be war and what happens after and who survived it due to nuclear war? I don’t know and I just hope people will avoid nuclear war, but who knows?

I lived through 2½ decades of the last Cold War, particularly the 80s when Reagan ramped up the aggressive rhetoric towards Brezhnev, Chernenko & Gorbachev... like he was daring them to try something

If the Ukraine invasion is Russia's version of the Spanish Civil War - a dress rehearsal for the real thing, then all Putin has shown is how far behind the Russian army really is when it comes to tactics & logistics - something that will quickly be exploited when they come up against a real opponent who isn't geographically & politically isolated...

In the beginning of war Stalin also was don’t care of tactic & logistics, simply because he want to utilize some trash and build new generation of Soviet people and he did it…

I think Russia is itself what the Republican future looks like. Total control of the government by concervatives, and its lead inevitably to a police state, ramptant corruption, and ill concieved military adventurism.

The cynic in me says - so kind of like what it is now? With a lame duck President totally at the mercy of a stacked Senate & Supreme Court that can undo anything he tries... Ill-conceived military adventurism? Well, they certainly have recent form in that... & as for the rampant corruption *cough* Trump!! *cough*

Except of course the Republican dream is kind of the opposite of what Biden has, they dream of a strong executive who can do whatever he wants, like Trump and if Trump kept on Trumping we'd end up with the kind of falling-over-itself national incompetence that is Putin's Russia
