Apple have announced they'll no longer be making the iPod...

Typical. Just as I've finally become comfortable with using one (over the last 10 years or so), they go & discontinue it right when I'm thinking I need to buy a new one. Long-Suffering Partner gave me an old iPod of hers with 128g storage back in 2011 or so & it's taken me a decade to get anywhere near filling it with WAV or mp4 quality files (I HATE the sound 'quality' of mp3!!!). So long, in fact, that the drive on the old thing is getting a bit dodgy & it doesn't always want to talk to my PC when I'm uploading to it. With that in mind, last year I got an iPhone12 with 128g storage, only to discover that trying to transfer my old iTunes library across to the phone's Apple Music app doesn't really work easily & that all the curated playlists don't survive the crossing. All because Apple also stopped supporting iTunes not long before I got the phone. My timing with technology couldn't be worse it seems

I mean, they've even stopped putting CD players in new cars too!! That's why I was so slow to move to an iPod, because I used to have CDs in the car all the time & was perfectly happy. When we sold my beloved 2003 Ford V8 OBluV8 a couple of years ago & bought our current SUV, I was a little disappointed that I now have to think of CDs the same way as the 8-track cartridge, then the cassette...

I am pretty sure they keep making things obsolete so that we'll have to buy the things they designed to replace them. It is freaking annoying.
