NSW's Deputy Premier John Barilaro has hinted that new restrictions could be on the table for the parts of Sydney, telling Sky News "we've lost control" of the virus.

Mr Barilaro revealed it wouldn’t be possible for the Greater Sydney lockdown to end on Friday night and said , while a curfew wasn’t being considered, more restrictions may be needed for some parts of Sydney.

“We may have to go further or tighten restrictions in some local government areas, we accept that but what does that mean?” he said. “It means making sure there’s less movement of people going into homes, going into construction sites, going into retail.”

It comes after NSW recorded 112 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total number of infections in the outbreak to 678.

My job basically is going into people's homes, going into construction sites & then taking my plans & reports into a retail store...

678... and I guess that's not shorthand for 678,000 is it?

I don't suppose you could rig a drone with a laser measuring device and stand in the driveway while you fly it into the houses.
