Lockdown traffic... how I've missed you!!

The double-whammy of a 2 week lockdown during school holidays means the roads have been blissfully empty on my daily drive this week, so far - especially at the peak times of school drop-off & pick-up. Usually, when I think it's going to take 30 minutes to get somewhere, I already know that's an unrealistically optimistic estimate, based on traffic levels from about 25 years ago, but this week it's been a conservative estimate, allowing for traffic that hasn't been there!!

Other than that, it's been wet, windy & not the kind of weather for anything other than essential trips to shops & for no one other than foolhardy flooring measurers on their appointed rounds

I hate traffic and I hate lockdown, but because lockdown killed traffic then I hated lockdown less…

I kind of miss the traffic levels from March - June 2020 around here. Our roads are normally clogged most of the time. The few times I had reason to drive around last spring, I got to FLY down the highways without any slowdowns. (Unfortunately, some people took the empty roads as a license to drive as fast as their cars could possibly go, and I had to watch out for those people lest I change lanes into them.)
