It's too darned hot - the first really hot days of the fast-encroaching Summer. Unlike last Summer, which was dry & baking, due to the years of drought & adverse weather systems, this Summer is being directed by a La Nina in the Pacific which brings hot, humid air & lots of rain... the complete opposite opposite of an El Nino event, which is what has baked Australia every Summer for the last 6-8 years, contributing to our devastating fires

Tomorrow will be a case in point - a stinking hot, humid day, then thunderstorms aplenty in the late afternoon. Today has just been hot'n'humid, without any kind of cool breeze to bring relief - the wind has been coming off the West Pole, which brings nothing but hot air from the inland. And of course, I wound up out in the middle of it for work, dealing with an installation which had some key breakdowns in communication that threatened to send the day off the rails & took some terse, some angry & some smoothing phone calls between 4-5 people to bring back from the boil... most done out in the open air, as the building's phone reception was bloody awful

Long-suffering Partner has just come off 4 night shifts & boldly volunteered to accompany me to the 2nd gig of the covers band I was briefly in. We made it through their 1st set before her sleep bomb went off & possibly some mild heatstroke began leading me towards the Land of Nod as well. So we are home, it's still too darned hot & the only breeze is coming from the fans we have on in every room - & 2 in the bedroom!!

Well I'm glad you're getting rain this year! Troublesome, but beats fire and smoke amirite?
