I never knew Alan Alda was doing such a 'Groucho' pastiche on MASH until years after the show had finished & I discovered the Marx Brothers via VHS tapes & their books
Looking at MASH re-runs these days, it's pretty obvious... but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?
Plus, in the 1950s, Groucho would have been all the rage, thanks to the movies & his blossoming radio & TV appearances... so I suppose it's historically accurate too!
