Looking Back Again

A Blue Jay on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon

Just wait 'til I get to some more of the Monument Valley shots... L-SP & I could happily spend a sizeable lottery win on buying a room at the View Hotel there & be ecstatically happy...
The 2016 trip, while shorter in both duration & scale, than the epic 26 state trek in 2012, was a more immersive experience for both those reasons, as well as giving us more time with friends old & new in the places we did visit & spend more time in - San Francisco, Denver & Boulder & a meet-up in Vegas with an Australian ex-pat now living in Seattle. We also spent longer in some of the places we'd only blitzed through 4 years earlier, like Monument Valley, Arches National Park, Yosemite...even Las Vegas. We also did the Big Sur coast drive, as well as part of Death Valley & the Sierra Nevada... we needed a week at home to rest, by the time we got back! And there are still so many places we missed, even in that particular corner - Horseshoe Bend, Ship Rock, Zabriskie Point... I'm sure some of our friends reading this, will have their own additions...
