A night off!!

Well, it wasn't going to be, but I got lucky... The new guy at work (loudmouth Kiwi techno-fan) (who, incidentally, is quite often the most annoying person I've ever encountered since... the last one), has been rabbiting on about a digital photography exhibition 2 of his undoubtedly charming friends are having in Rozelle. The opening party is tonight & up until today, he has been trying to get we remaining 2 members of the sales team to go with him. All the usual promises - free alcohol, attractive women, stunning art... etc have been made. Then today... with suitable evening-wear & a resigned-but-interested expression ready in a plastic bag to change into after work... not a word from him. At 5.30, he raced off to get changed himself, then fled out the door like there was a hellhound on his trail, leaving me blessing my good fortune & wondering what to have for dinner.

I've even left my mobile phone at work, so there'll be nothing to distract me this evening - from doing... hmmm... what exactly??

Now I'm bored...

A full weekend & start to the week - rehearsals, other people's gigs, socialising 'til the wee small hours & a bit of housework & more home reclaiming from the torchlight fly-by-night.

The trouble with having this much time on my hands to do things, is that I'll probably be tempted to do nothing with it & just watch a DVD or something. Then, when I'm busy again, I'll lament the fact that I haven't had time to do this, that or the other. Especially the other... I haven't done that for a biblical age...

I think I'll open a bottle of red & have a ponder in front of the kitchen cupboards over what to eat. See where that leads.

Dammit. Our queue just shat itself - the normal at night with 24 of us on is 2 or 3 waiting. Tonight (and we don't know why) it's at 67 with a 25 minute wait. No servers down, no obvious problems - jsut everyone calling at once.

Move over and open another bloody bottle.

Queue For A Song?

As long as I'm not called on to answer any more phones... this has been a very profitable night for Telstra (sorry, they're your competition... ), you're more than welcome. Courtesy of the phone this evening, I now have 2 gigs next week - for 2 different bands, one of which I officially quit nearly 2 years ago. now THAT one I'm looking forward to... it'll be much more of a challenge than just another Daylan gig...
