Early To Rise...

After an early rise yesterday to attend the monthly work staff meeting, held at 7.30am in our warehouse/office down in Caringbah (about 38kms from home), L-SP & I were up even earlier today for a sunrise photo shoot with the Canon Collective - something I didn't even know about until a work friend told L-SP about it & she discovered that not only are these things relatively frequent, they're FREE!!!!
You get helpful tips from a Canon employee & the chance to try out different pieces of equipment - lenses, filters, tripods etc... probably on the sound business principle that once you try, you want to buy. This morning's shoot was at Narrabeen, one of Sydney's northern beaches & a relatively (compared to Caringbah, at least) short drive from home. Even shorter at 4.45am
There were probably a dozen of us, all armed with tripods, torches & Sydney winter clothing (just parkas or hoodies... the occasional scarf) & we mostly managed to stay out of each other's shots...
We're doing another one at the end of the month - at 4.30pm in the city - much more civilised!!
