The god of small creatures really had it in for Layla & her siblings... & mother

Having seemingly avoided developing Feline Peritonitis, which carried off the rest of her family, Layla has been diagnosed with leukaemia - her red blood cell count is incredibly low, her breathing is shallow & her heart-rate is elevated. She's on Prednisone for the next 10 days to see how (if) she'll respond



Fingers, legs, eyes crossed we get a miracle this time. We're overdue for one

The poor little thing just can't win a trick... According to the Vet, her blood sample was"full of abnormalities", but it was the low red cell count that was of most concern

A transfusion is possible, but isn't a long-term fix, even if it wasn't so expensive. The Prednisone has increased her activity & appetite over the last 3 days, but her gums, toes & nose haven't become any pinker... yet, meaning the red cells aren't improving

We'll know in a week which way this will go... keep you posted
