That Was The Weekend That Was

Swish!!
What was that?? That was the sound of your weekend, mate... going past in a flash... or at least a swish.
The Willoughby instrumental gig was a lot of fun. A few of Bernard's friends transported their birthday party to the club for the duration & were vocal in their appreciation - deserved or not. And I think we deserved it... I stuck around for the jam part of the evening after one of the organisers asked me to back the bar manager on a version of Mustang Sally. I said sure... then remembered I'd never played the song in my life. No problem... it's a 12 bar... what key do you want it in??. The attractive Greek woman who wanted me to play Rhiannon for her was a different prospect. I'd never played it - mainly 'cause I hate the song... but... the things we do in the heat of the moment. I even worked out the lead guitar parts on the fly.
Stumbled around the house this morning 'til forced into ablutions & readiness by an SMS from Joshua saying he'd be there in 20 minutes. Tobias arrived not long after & our last rehearsal before Wednesday night ensued. We'll be fine - as I hope we would be after being in this band for the last few years... like about 4.
A home cooked meal & off to Rose Bay & an aborted trip to the Annandale for the Mess Hall & Loene Carmen. Didn't make it there... sorry Loene - I'll get to see you one day... hope you see me too. Starsky & Hutch on DVD was not quite the evening I had planned, but it'll do nicely. Nowhere near as bad as I thought it could be.
Must get in touch with Elizabeth & co-ordinate the Melbourne trip...
