Day One 2013

Agg... the last thing 2012 gave me was a cold ~ the feeling in the back of the throat that no amount of liquids (with or without alcohol) can shift, then the blocked nose when you're trying to get to sleep after a gentle evening seeing out the old year
The first thing 2013 did to me was eject the contents of 2012's late supper I'd enjoyed with some neighbours as we watched the Sydney fireworks ~ the view unimpeded for the first time since the early 1980s, thanks to a large tree at the front of the house having died after an over-enthusiastic 'trimming' by local council workers a few months back. It had survived a car crash, a lightning strike & years of southerly winds, but didn't make it through surgery... performed with a chainsaw, of course
Things to do in 2013:~ First, find the missing piece of my camera tripod, then don't lose it again through the year... so I can take photos of next NYE's fireworks like I'd planned to last night. Second, find a proper, well-paid job that hasn't been offered by a now-vanished fraud. Third, get a webcam. Fourth, upgrade my musical arsenal & play it more often. Fifth, some hard & software upgrading so I can record sketches of music here, as well as have PhotoShop run at slightly faster than glacial pace
Okay... I'm ready

The last sunset of 2012... from the balcony
