waitingman... & I probably won't be the last, but I'll be the latest person to lament the sheer bloody rudeness of online forum comments.
Even a music video on YouTube can be an innocent catalyst for people to vilify others for their race, IQ, political opinion, or even just their username. And it's not done in the spirit of debate or even argument, it's mindless abuse which degenerates into lexical violence the longer the thread goes on.
It's pathetic. I can't believe that this sort of ignorant schoolyard-style bullying has flourished at the hands of people who must surely be old enough to know better.
We think we've come so far...

Date: 2011-06-11 09:20 am (UTC)And ha, I was just thinking of you cos I was just watching a Solsbury Hill clip that amassed all the performances over the years and aren't you the one person I know who adores the Growing Up concert DVD which I have yet to purchase and watch? :p I was just thinking, "Man, I should see if I can watch the whole thing on YouTube."
