Is Flickr a better place for me to keep photos online than the LJ gallery?

The LJ gallery can take ages to upload stuff & sometimes I;m not happy with the size & quality of what I wind up with...

How easy is it to upload to Flickr & then transfer pictures across to an LJ entry... as you obviously do with yours?

Luddite alert!

I'm revealing myself as not-very-technical here... What is & how does one 'img src'?

my personal feeling is that it is easier to manage and organise photos at Flickr, and has the advantage - or disadvantage - of exposing the photos to a wider audience. You may also want to investigate Picasa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picasa)

And a belated realisation... is it worthwhile including a copyright message & name on pictures (as done by UnknownBlogger) to 'protect' my photos from being ripped off & passed off as someone else's work ~ given that Flickr et al exposes my work to wider scrutiny?

yeah, what ecbee said. Mind you, it's never going to be perfect, once you publish, the only protection you have is an assertion of your rights, same as any publication.
