Is This A Compliment??!!??!!

The Alpha-est of Males was here again earlier this evening. My orientation is obviously no longer in question...
Then again, what would you think/say when confronted with this statement...
"I obviously think you're alright, 'cause I turned down a root to be here with you tonight instead..."
Only after my jaw hit the ground did he go on to give further enlightening explanations of having earlier spurned the determined & unambiguous advances of a female Western Suburban hairdresser. At which point I let go of the wine bottle I'd instinctively grasped in 'Combat Position' & made some innocuous blokey, empathetic comment (sorry AquanD, no lisp this time... didn't think quick enough...).
However, he did let slip today that I'm thought of as a 'Drama Queen' by some staff & management at other stores... I don't particularly care, as long as they do what I want/need them to do when I want/need them to do it... Thusfar they mostly do, after a bit of what I wouldn't call 'drama' so much as 'inventive personal abuse'... but there's a time-honoured saying about casting pearls before swine.
Maybe a better approach would be a lot less Groucho Marx & a lot more Eric Cartman. Do you, dear reader, think it would help both my job & reputation if my line of abuse owed less to Groucho than to Eric??
Rhetorical... if you prefer.
