The Road To Nowhere

I think I was an unwitting participant in a FlashMob yesterday...
The Father-Figure & I were told about a vintage car show in Bowral & thought it was as good an excuse as any to get the Jeepster out & about for the day, see the Southern Highlands & wander around the small town after seeing what other cars turned up. A nice, semi-planned way to spend a Sunday.
As noted in this journal before, you know what happens to best-laid plans...
The location for the car show was the playing fields of a Catholic College about 3km from Bowral & there was a sign at the entrance stating that the event was not open to the public, which doesn't make it much of a 'car show' if the only people looking are other car owners. Go figure... So a hundred or so vintage vehicles (& an alarming number of modern BMWs?!) gathered in a field in the middle of nowhere for a few hours, with nothing but a small 'Espresso' stand for sustenance, before gradually leaving the place either for home or other destinations...
Sounds like a FlashMob to me.
It was decided that our 'other destination' should be the 'Lion Rampant' pub in Mittagong... a typical country town pub in most respects ~ bugger-all beer on tap unless you like Tooheys New or VB, local yokels... you know the deal, but a nice enough place to fortify ourselves for the journey home ~ the Jeepster's not exactly airtight... or air-conditioned (except by the air that rushes in from outside).

One of the problems with Mother Nature's air-conditioning... Mother Nature's hitch-hikers
Back to town too late to attend the final RockChikz rehearsal, or to catch up with RonBassBeast before matters medical today. Hope all goes well...
And now, today.
