Well bugger me... NOW maybe everyone will sit up, take notice & ask themselves what the hell are we doing... Niall Horan, an ex-member of a boy band, has tweeted about the riots & how Trump is hiding in a bunker

Never mind that some people have been pushing the same barrow for months, if not years now. Thank god folks - a has-been pop star is angry about this, so it should all clear up in a day or two... The rest of us can stop writing our little, worthless opinions &, in the case of Pink Halen, actual experiences - nobody's reading or listening. But I'm sure they'll listen to Niall... after all, he sang 'The Best Song Ever'

I think I'm going to find something else to write about - nobody cares what an Australian thinks about American racism - it's not as though we don't have our own ugly history of it anyway

So... on to more important things, like Why don't more women go to King Crimson shows? At least we have an answer to that...

Rant!!

Bloody Foxtel...

I've been a subscriber for nearly 20 years - something that, Foxtel gush to tell me, makes me a 'Diamond' customer, which entitles me to some useless free perks &, supposedly, skipping the queue when calling their helplines. That's the first lie right there - it still took them 15 minutes to get 'round to talking to me. This is after I tried their livechat option on the website & only exchanged text with a 'helpbot'... no supposedly real person typed anything at all

All I want to do is upgrade my viewing package to include a few more channels, including the Rugby League & cricket - I am an Australian man after all... When I eventually talked to someone, they informed me, after a great deal of prevarication, that I can't upgrade my package without first upgrading my set-top box. To upgrade that, I need to have a satellite dish installed on my roof - which is a) impractical & b) fraught with unfavourable discussions with the upstairs neighbours, so c) not going to happen... So, apparently, any upgrade is not going to happen either

The push onto satellite dishes is because Foxtel are losing access to the telecommunications cables & wires they've delivered their service through for 20 years or so - & rather than negotiate new access, they're forcing all their customers to install unsightly hardware that is impractical & surely unnecessary in this age of 5G internet & fibreoptic cabling. It will certainly be out-of-date by 2023, which is when Foxtel's cable agreement expires. So I shouldn't have to do anything for at least 3 years regarding equipment 'upgrade' anyway, so why the hell can't I just upgrade my viewing using my existing platform?!?!?!?

Regarding their new set-top boxes... oh boy, you should see the online reviews for them - not remotely positive & not a little angry either. Certainly not an incentive to upgrade to one & also make my rooftop look like something from the 80s. I'll only consider installing a satellite dish if I can access information from other satellites & receive live feeds from the International Space Station

So it's looking likely that Rupert & James will have to get by without any more money from me... I'm sure they'll be tossing & turning in their beds
