Sitting on some rocks south of Bondi Beach yesterday, with the waves constantly washing & crashing the shore below me & the rain temporarily in abeyance, I had a moment.

I'd remembered a meditation technique that I never seem to when I'm trying to sleep, so decided to try it there & then. As I concentrated on my breathing... then on the breath itself, the world went away & a red haze appeared before my closed eyes ~ weird... but all was calm.

After only a minute or so, I was distracted by a voice nearby & came back to life. At various other times through the day & night I tried again, but couldn't do it either because of location, intrusive background noises... concentration on breathing wasn't shutting out distractions external & internal.

Still, I had a moment & that's a good thing. It bodes well.
