Mussel Man

Dinner last night with SG, Aquandrian & a new/old friend of SG's from LJ, whose username I can't recall.

Meetings, greetings & other pleasantries were the purpose, Bungalow 8 was the venue, & all-you-can-eat mussels were the menu. 5 (large!) servings later, we'd proved what shellfish bastards we could be... The mussels could be had 5 different ways (Provencale, Tom Yum Gai, Green Curry, White Wine &... another one...) & all were deliciously messy delights. Given how small a steamed mussel is, after you lever it from its shell, it was surprising how full I was by the time we gorged our way through the menu. Even a small dessert chocolate each, supplied by Aquandrian, was a mite too close to Mr Creosote territory for comfort.

Thank god I'd left OBluV8 at home & walked to the main road to catch a bus into town (thus ensuring a decent walk back home as well), 'cause I definitely needed the increased heart/metabolism rate after that lot! It started to rain on me about 100m from home, which only made me walk faster.

I think I'm still full!

Edit: And from today's Melbourne Age, the wonderful, wacky Tori Amos. Anyone heard her new album yet?

Speaking of things musical, I had a call the other night from an old friend (in his 70s!) who's looking for backing tracks for jazz/big band standard vocal numbers which can then be transposed into the right key for his voice. So, the call goes out to anyone who has a) midifiles (or other formats) of said tunes & b) software that allows them to be transposed without affecting tempo.

Can anyone help?
