My best friend's graduation ceremony at Sydney University (Class 1 Honours), an interminable number of lesser Arts students & a mind-numbing keynote address. A celebratory dinner at a bar in Balmain where friends from all walks of life collided at one large table. Dramas, unexpected new friendships, non-evident perceived rivalries & later, an either extremely tired, or extremely drug-affected & rather attractive woman collapsing repeatedly into my arms, before being snapped up by a bunch of pool-playing French/Australian opportunists. C'est la guerre...
Leisurely local cafe breakfasts, a complete & utter failure to find time to go grocery shopping - my cupboards are barer than Mother Hubbards.
An ex-girlfriend's wedding at the Museum of Contemporary Art, to a lovely bloke she's been with for a few years. Great views, finger food, average main meals. Lots of people - old friends, renewed old friendships, forgotten acquaintances & lots of blank looks.
And disparate rehearsals for this upcoming eating disorder gig at The Rocks next Thursday pm... at night... on an open-air stage. If anyone would like to come along to see me - bring blankets!!
