Same Planet, Different Worlds
Dec. 7th, 2005 10:49 amWASHINGTON: Painting an optimistic picture of Iraq's future, the Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, has warned that the US mission in Iraq is "essential to protecting the lives of the American people".
Please explain the logic underlying this conclusion Mr Secretary... exactly how are the residents of East Buttocks, Texas, safer as long as there are US troops on the other side of the world??
Mr Rumsfeld said that progress in Iraq cannot be measured by the level of bloodshed or the number of terrorist attacks, and criticised news outlets for dwelling on violence in reports from Iraq.
To paraphrase the late, great Douglas Adams... Mr Rumsfeld then went on to argue that black is really the same as white, then walked outside & was hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing.
Chance would be a fine thing...
