Well, I've passed the first test of my 'No More Tests' resolve... having gone nowhere near the litmus test in Lederhosen's entry from a few days ago.

Lots of things moving... the car, with me in it, up to Newcastle & surrounds yesterday for a largely wasted day, but with a decent free lunch - which almost made up for the shocking re-entry to Sydney school hours traffic when I got back in the afternoon. It takes 2 hours to drive from the start of the freeway in Wahroonga to Newcastle - which is about 150 kms, give or take, with the reverse travel time being similar. It then took 90 minutes to travel from Wahroonga to my home - which is only about 20 kms. Got a phone call from yet another head-hunter during the trip back. They all make it sound so cloak & dagger - "Are you alone? Can you speak freely? Don't tell anyone I called!" It was all I could do to stop myself talking like that French Resistance character from 'Allo Allo'... 'Leesten carefoolly, I shall say zis only once.'

Lots of things not moving... my PC at home needs a new motherboard & from my initial enquiries, it seems it would be easier (& cheaper!) to get a new CPU - the advantage of which is the opportunity to upgrade memory, processor, operating system & a few extra bells & whistles - like a DVD burner. Enquiries continue...

Now... to work, perchance to dream.
