T Minus 3 Days...
May. 10th, 2005 07:54 pmAnd believe me, am I counting...
So, into the last week at the current job. Lots of tying up little projects, whilst simultaneously pushing bigger ones one step at a time towards what should be their conclusion, but isn't. Some projects, like people, resist change. Some people, like projects, should be abandoned... at birth.
There's one particular company it's been my misfortune to deal with since about October last year. Their one room AV installation has now been going on for 8 months, with myriad small changes & some annoyingly large ones in planning, equipment & installation. Their CEO is the kind of guy who's never wrong... about anything... especially AV equipment. He would rather take the uninformed advice of someone on the other side of the planet about the gear he needs than the experienced sales rep who tells him it won't work. Sure enough... it hasn't.
Today, with 3 days in my job left, I finally levelled with him. I said I'd been polite for 8 months & hadn't said it, but now... "I TOLD YOU SO..."
Boy that felt good.
What feels even better is that after Friday it will be my GMs job to sort the mess out. Serves him right... but don't get me started...
In other news, the new country band continues to come together by degrees, my band snail crawls onward as ever & the combination of macchiatos & stress is finally starting to produce results.
Now, guitar practice.
