A dear friend has been targeted by a right-wing, anti-green website & has been given a petty, vindictive, sniggering-schoolboy "look at the looney!!" write-up in the "Green Freaks" 'blog section. God knows how they found her & decided she was a threat to capitalism & consumerism, but they take delight in ridiculing her lifestyle, cast misinformed moral aspersions at her job & draw paintroller-sized broadstroke conclusions about her mental capacity & state based on some flight-of-fancy entries in her own 'blog. Because one of her jobs is modelling for life-drawing, they even include a link to some "nude photos!!"... actually mostly drawings, but I suppose when you're a hippie/leftie/queer-bashing racist bigot with all the social skills & physical attraction of a wounded hippopotamus, you have to get your jollies somewhere...
No, I'm not providing a link...
A mixed-bag rehearsal with H&F tonight. Some good conversations early on, then a, mostly, somewhat inspired run-through of the material so far, but even with the spontaneous reappearance of a long-forgotten Daylan piece from the 90s, the magic wasn't quite as spellbinding as I would have liked. Then again, I was told last weekend that I set too-high standards for most things & people, so maybe I should just be grateful for the good work done & be satisfied with any forward motion.

Date: 2008-02-15 01:19 pm (UTC)A big boo to them for their narrow mindedness. I for one count as being priveleged to be aquainted with the person of whom you speak - even if some of our views differ.
As for H&F - sorry for my tiredness and lethargy. Some progress was made as you say and things will never go smoothly all the time. Maybe we need to set a more rigid structure to rehearsals? - We'll talk - for now - peace.
