The Worm Turns... The Mouse Roars

waitingmanI am not happy.
Finally got paid some time in the small hours of the morning & if an extra hundred dollars is the Hobbit's idea of a "substantial" pay rise, then he can go & get......
I'm doing the work of 3 people, we're now opening half an hour earlier, I'm still getting conflicting & contradicting instructions from all above me & there's no way in this wet world that what they're paying me is worth the stress & the threat of physical & mental injury.
Especially not when only 5 hours after receiving my fortnightly wage, I've spent it all on car registration & the bills I'd been holding off on for the last 2 weeks in the first place. Exactly what I'll live on for the next 12 days is an interesting question.
An e-mail has been sent to the Hobbit outlining my 'concerns' in no uncertain terms & telling him I'm basically on the lookout for a new job. And so today, I've begun openly looking at the job websites on the work computer in the hope that I'll be seen doing it. Subtlety is my preferred modus of operandi, but they're about to find out I can be blunt & uncompromising when my back's against the wall.
The good thing about this is ~ they really can't afford to lose me, but even if they call my bluff, I have the safety net of 3 weeks unused holidays & the satisfaction of knowing that the place will be absolutely...... without me.
And I don't give a rat's....
