For months now, I've been wrestling with my conscience & my bank account &, to a lesser degree, my common sense.

Having spent a not insubstantial (un?) amount of money buying the Buffy & Angel video box sets in the days before I owned a DVD player, would it be worthwhile buying the DVD sets now I own a player? After all, there's all the extra bits - commentaries, behind-the-scenes etc... But the sets were $70 odd dollars each, so a full season would cost somewhere in the region of $150.00...

Curse & thank you Big W $22.78 per box means I now have nearly all the DVDs, a depleted bank account & a moral dilemma about what to do with the, now redundant, video sets. Methinks they will go to the Salvos along with my old TV, which has been sitting in the loungeroom for most of the year & will be sorely missed as yet another surface to put stuff on - but the time has come to reclaim my spaces. It's been ticking away at the back of my mind since the Uninvited Guest escaped without tripping over anything on his way to the front door, yet I managed to hit both the old TV & a box in the front hallway during my pursuit. Injury to insult, you might say.

Anyway, I've watched a lot of the DVDs since last week. It helps that Melbourne Elizabeth is a fan & was pleased to see the new sets on the shelves... but she's been gone for 48 hours now... so what's my excuse for the last 2 evenings?

Never mind the lifestyle choice... feel the quality!! How does anyone watch ANYTHING on VHS any more??

Now, when's the Return Of The King extended DVD coming out??

you could sell the video sets on ebay. I'm in the process of selling my miniatures on there.

in less than three hours, i hope to be carrying back home my own dvd player.
