Tired.

At the tail-end of my weekend, having achieved a great deal & driven a great deal more & it feels like I've eaten only slightly less than that. The fridge is full of leftovers, the lounge is devoid of guitars & I'm about to return to the prone position & Harry Potter Book IV, to wait for sleep to claim me.

Work was busy on Saturday afternoon, as there was only me to deal with the punters milling around the half-renovated 'showroom' sniffing for bargains & asking the requisite 50 billion questions that make buying a BBQ or outdoor furniture a more complicated process than buying a new car. After turfing the last of them out, about an hour after official closing time, there was spray-painting to be done (Proper spray-painting, unlike the kind practised by the boss's nephews) & general cosmetic maintenance to make the place look presentable while I'm off, before I headed to the local megamall to find SarinG & go hunting/gathering/shopping for dinner ingredients.

A good meal ~ roast chicken breast stuffed with... stuff, assorted vegetables etc... a good, if slightly off-kilter movie ~ The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, all helped by good choices of wine.

Sunday began slowly & was marked by the attrition of the number of Multi-String-Army officers who'd be coming over for practice. By the time breakfast & coffee were had at the local, only Maelefic was confirmed, but his arrival time was a bit sketchy. Little did we know...

A productive afternoon/evening spent writing & playing for 2 of the 3 current music projects, then M'fic dozed off on the couch whilst watching X-Men II, dreaming of Famke Janssen, no doubt...

Today began even slower, but once we were rolling, things started to happen. After the usual at the usual place, M'fic & I headed off to a guitar shop recommended by my Foil, to get my 2 main guitars serviced/repaired & my amp resurrected. The shop owner was impressed by both Wimsey the 24 yr old Telecaster & my (we think) 29 yr old amp, aghast at the problems both were having & complimentary about both Matron the 10yr old acoustic guitar & the tuning I use on it... All of which leaves me without much to make music with this week, but it'll be worth it to have them all back in full health. They liked M'fic's vintage acoustic too & pointed out that a previous owner once had a pickup installed on it ~ now obviously removed, & planted the idea of putting one on it again in my counterpart's head & wallet.

Drinks at a pub in Newtown, late lunch at a burger joint via a few of Newtown's weirder shops, then off to Paddington to pick up a late birthday present for me ~ a voodoo knife block. Don't ask... I'll post a picture soon. Thanks SG!!!

Thence to the battle through Sydney peak-hour traffic returned to normal after APEC, to deposit M'fic & SarinG at their respective homes & return to WaitingManor

At least no one tried to kill you... oh, that's right. It was your weekend.

Yes, I did read that last post about work; I just haven't had time to respond. I am beginning to think we need to move to Sydney so I can get a job at Workcover so I can harangue your employer.

Now that the wholesale demolition work has been largely completed ~ both on the shop & on me, my activities are returning to those more commonly associated with sales...

Which today, seem to consist of wandering around the empty joint ((no co-workers or renovators today) trying to stave off boredom. Makes a nice change!!
