What a little bitch! If I did that every time someone mispronounced EITHER of my names (first and surname) I'd be up there with Hitler. Or maybe Bush.

Mind you, I would've clocked her for that, it's justifiable self defence - and by damn she desreves a good slapdown. Pfft, Megan, with such a shit name, no wonder she's so titchy...

I only get that pissed when people do it deliberately. People who I've known for years. When I was about 14 or 15 and into my steel-capped hiking boots phase, I acquired a completely different nickname at bridge. Which I'm OK about.

And when it comes to spelling, it's not Freyr (I'm not a guy), or Freeer (although phonetically understandable).

I'm a lot more relaxed about all this than I used to be. These days no one does it deliberately to piss me off, so I can relax about it. Until people start correcting other people to their preferred version of pronunciation in front of me when the corrected people had it right, because they'd listened when I'd introduced myself...
