The Darkening Of The Light

Ahh the Northern Beaches... Bathed in light one minute, pitch black for the next 45. Then bathed in light for 10 minutes, before going pitch black again for an hour. Then...

You get the picture... even if you can only see it intermittently.

After a brief preview of blackouts to come last Saturday evening (when we lost power for about 20 minutes), the local grid had a meltdown/hissy fit tonight & darkened 3 suburbs for most of the evening ~ until about 20 minutes ago. The downside of portable phones is that they need electricity to work... & mobile phones need to be recharged. Murphy's Law states that when your mobile needs recharging, that's when the power goes off & you can't use your cordless phone either. Especially if/when you need/want to talk to a variety of people for various reasons of varying urgency.

Still, the upside was that I spent an evening with my nylon-string guitar, making (mostly) beautiful music together...

Power's not our problem here, but it IS fucking freezing. Even my avatar is cold!
