Recipe for a hot toddy.

1 - boil the kettle and grab a mug.
2 - put a healthy dash of whiskey or brandy in the mug and fill with hot water and a squeeze of lemon juice.
3 - drink quickly so the goodness in the alcohol doesn't dissipate.
4 - order another hot toddy from concerned significant other.
5 - go to bed and wait for second hot toddy to be delivered.#
6 - consume second hot toddy.
7 - sweetly request another one from significant other.

Note: if significant other gets tetchy about making of hot toddies and delivering them to you in either bed or on the lounge, have significant other make up a hot thermos of hot toddy and place by your right hand so you can self administer.

After a couple of hours you will either be:

a) alone after ticked off significant other goes in search of more scintillating and less demanding company.
b) asleep
c) unconcious.

# can also be administered on the lounge if you are covered with a blankie and are propped up in front of tv with favourite DVD playing.
