Ups & Downs

waitingmanMore than just the name of a decent Sydney band from a decade ago... also a way of life.
Recent ups include a social weekend with extended trading hours, helping SarinG celebrate her birthday, with 4 of her closest friends, some very early morning conversations, combined with sleep-ins & leisurely local breakfasts. Sunday was a busy day... the producer/writer/director of the TV pilot DaylanMusic is working on, came over with 4 songs she wants me to play ~ tonight!! ~ at the opening of a new venue somewhere in the city. Much rehearsal & arranging on-the-fly. And fingers crossed... which makes playing guitar an interesting challenge.
Then Sunday evening, a night with Robbie Williams & thousands of his closest friends!!
He actually looked a bit clearer than the photo suggests... stupid phone camera!!
Monday was spent photographing our way 'round Botany Bay & La Perouse,
after finally receiving word that I didn't get the job in Melbourne that I'd driven down for last week. Ah well, c'est la merde... The cloud is that it puts all my plans on hold. The silver lining is that I didn't like the look of the guys anyway ~ & what's the point of a crap job in a new town?.
So, more irons in the fire & waiting... waiting...
Things to come: a mystery gig tonight, a barbecue & recording session tomorrow & Wafflers on Friday night. More fun than I can afford!!
