Burning Down The House

Things I miss about cooking with gas... as opposed to electricity...
#1. The lack of a controllable flame that tells you how hot the wok's getting.
#2. The ability to heat 2~3 rooms with a couple of jets lit & set to medium.
But mostly #1... it's gonna take a lot of elbow grease & a couple of steel wool pads to get the chicken'n'snowpeas'n'ginger'n'garlic'n'chilli'n'teriyaki residue off the bottom of the wok this time...
Dammit!!!

Date: 2006-09-15 11:50 am (UTC)When I had a gas stove (never again the burning times!) I missed my electric stove. Mostly because I was used to turning the heat off five minutes before the dish was finished, and having it perfectly cooked when I wanted it. Seriously. I still have a dozen or more large boxes of matches from that rental in various boxes.
Soak the wok. You'll have to reseason it, anyway.

"... add one dash to the food & a glass for me... then another slosh into the food & a glassh for me... etc... hic..."
