Another Man Done Gone

Okay, note to self ~ stay away from all forms of media for the rest of the month.
Since my rant about the media overkill regarding Steve Irwin on Tuesday night, it's only been getting worse.
And today, Peter Brock was killed in a car crash. Another one dying on the job... so to speak, another "Aussie Legend" gone, another chance for hyperbole in hyperdrive.
They say these things come in threes. Would I be evil if I wished for Alan Jones choking to death on his own bile, whilst on air sometime early next week??

Date: 2006-09-08 09:01 am (UTC)Unfortunately, neither Don, nor Colin qualify... they weren't an "Aussie Legend" like Stevo & Brocky... & they didn't die on the job. I'm waiting for the next "hero" to go, who can further fuel the "outpourings of grief" all Australians must be feeling this week... for to feel otherwise is to be branded with that fearsome epithet "Un-Australian"... usually by Alan Jones.
If words were weapons, it would be five down... Germaine Greer has been hung, drawn, quartered, shot down & crucified.
