Fun, Love & Money
Oct. 10th, 2004 10:25 pmHmm... what an interesting afternoon...
Especially considering I thought it would be a dead loss...
The intention this weekend was to keep as much of it to myself as possible, barring a few commitments that I knew would be, at worst painless, at best guaranteed entertainment. The by-product of the approach is that my house is the cleanest it's been for months, but somehow my bank account has taken it's usual hammering. Perhaps when the dozen bottles of wine from Western Australia arrives, I'll begin to feel better about the unexpected phone sales call I had yesterday morning. That would be the best plan anyway...
I read a lot of Terry Pratchett too... I must go back to the 2nd hand bookstore in the city where I picked up the last batch. There's just too damn many of his books to justify paying close to $20 each... Provided I don't have any more red wine this evening, I may finish the current one & be left with nothing to read except the detective fiction library I already possess & know intimately. Then again, Kinky Friedman would follow on from TP rather nicely...
Still managed to be out until all hours of this morning though... Liz will be mortified that I've put that in writing, as she thinks I'm giving her a bad reputation. I think I'm giving her a rather good one myself... The main difference between this weekend & others past is that I've been able to sleep in after the event & so arrive at this time of the evening in a relatively awake & sober state... dammit!!
I really wish this weekend had an extra day attached to it like the last one did... then we might have seen something really interesting...
