Long D&M with the foil today about the proposed southward move - a conversation I've been dreading, as the musical partnership is one of 2 things that would suffer from the relocation. The other thing is another conversation I'm yet to finalise as well... Such bravery in the face of potential adversity!!

At least he didn't try to talk me out of it... just wanted to know the motives, whys & wherefores, which involved the exposure of some deeper feelings I usually prefer to keep hidden from most people. Funny how I treat other people's situations, feelings & experiences with great importance & care, yet place no such value on my own, seeing them as small potatoes compared to what's going on with everyone else - which in some cases is definitely more intense/important/worrisome/insert superior adjective here...

I was told in no uncertain terms today that this mindset must die.

To be fair to another - he wasn't the first person to tell me that, but to hear it from a 2nd source hammers it home a little harder. Must be careful to not swing too hard in the opposite direction, by way of knee-jerk reactionism.

Coincidentally, yesterday I had an interview with a company whose head office is in Melbourne & they said they were looking for someone to perform the same role (business development/sales/blah blah blah) in each city... I nearly volunteered my services down south immediately & still may, if I make it to the 2nd round of the process. Not exactly the role I have in mind for my future, but a good enough place to start from in a new town. Father Time & Lady Luck will tell.

Spent the working day wandering around an industrial estate - doing the dreaded doorknocking routine. The bad news - it was raining. The worse news - I was accompanied by the boss's wife & therefore couldn't fake my way out of it, ditch the leaflets & retire to the closest coffee shop for 2 hours, so I had to put on the plastic smile, swallow my pride & stick to the script... Luckily, I've always been able to fake sincerity effectively...

The good news - there are a lot of good looking receptionists in the Macquarie Business Park. The (potentially) better news - they all now have my name, (work) number & e-mail address... In an ideal world Cupid could succeed where Mammon may fail. After all, as a professional salesperson, you have to sell yourself first...

As some could tell you - I may be cheap, but I'm good.

Oh... & incidentally...
