Walk & Don't Look Back
Dec. 10th, 2005 12:41 amIf I'd known how much trouble this meme would cause me, in terms of saving all the first (& sometimes 2nd - just for comprehension's sake) sentences of my first journal entries for every month this year, I wouldn't have bothered...
See how much influence a seldom seen friend in Adelaide can have on you... Thanks a lot SandyPaw!!
January: Nothing wrong with my willpower...
Spent the Eve at Darling Point with a couple of friends, then hit the Cross & at least 2 bars 'til about 4.30 this morning.
February: Oops... fell off the wagon officially tonight...
Having had the odd 'special occasion' "one drink & that's it" tipples - justifying them by calling them social occasions, tonight I had no such excuse... home alone, no special occasion, just ennui. And it won.
March: English Genius
You scored 93% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 100% Advanced, and 88% Expert!
April: Busyness continues to eat away at my time, so that, even when I'm not busy, I'm too tired or drained to do much of anything else.
May: So, I got the job I went to the interview for on Tuesday... I get the angsty pleasure of resigning tomorrow morning.
June: So much for hiding underground.
It's been an expensive week. Given that my dreams of fiscal favour remained just that during the job change, I need to be pretty careful for a fortnight.
July: Feeling very post-big lunch & very pre-free dinner.
Had lunch with an erstwhile colleague in Gladesville this afternoon. Thinking about upgrading to dinner some time.
August: Another Monday, another recovery session from a fairly full weekend. Although, I did declare yesterday a ‘nothing’ day – where all invitations to go anywhere are declined & any movement at all is kept to a minimum…
September: The things that can happen quickly when you least expect them to...
Tuesday - spent the afternoon cruising the employment websites & sending off a barrage of applications online.
October: It is Monday, right??
The double effect of a long weekend & not having a working week to set the internal calendar by...
&
HEEELLLPPP!!!
November: Gemma & I had the first of our 'public rehearsals' last night at the Excelsior in front of about 8 people, most of whom were also performing.
December: Strangely Appropriate
Given the moods I've been in for the last couple of weeks.
&
A life out of balance indeed. I wonder if there's an obscure tribal word for feeling like a hollow shell too.
Bring on 2006, I say...
