Back To Work

Not to rub it in for the thousands who have lost their jobs in this time of plague & uncertainty...
In the megamall near work, there were even less stores open today than when I was there on Monday & another couple of places in the food court had downed shutters & closed up. Fortunately my 2 best coffee providers were still open & I tried to remember which one I'd been to last, so I could go to the other one... doing my bit to keep them both running
Later, doing some post-work shopping, there were paper towels on the supermarket shelf, but tissues & toilet paper are still rarer than rocking-horse shit, along with liquid soaps, hand sanitiser, pasta, rice... though the fresh meat section seems to have recovered - maybe because the new social gathering rules pretty much prohibit the Australian tradition of the barbecue... Steaks are back, but chicken, especially breast fillets, are rare as hens teeth (see what I did there?)... sorry...
Work is still ticking over though, with a few projects coming through this week & a large quote for me to do tomorrow - as long as the construction trades are still going, so are we. And with the new Government pay incentive for businesses, anyone who's lost their job should apply to work with us... I can teach you all you need to know about flooring in 3 days. The real trick is convincing people it's more complicated than that - which takes years of practice. That's why they pay me the not-as-big-as-I'd-like bucks
