Having woken to the 'news' that Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie are divorcing, I can see that I'll be hearing, reading & seeing about nothing else on the news sites, the talk shows & the tabloid trash mags for the next 2 months at least

I know it's tempting fate, especially this year, but we need another celebrity death... otherwise I'll go absolutely, hair-tearingly berko

Why is it that the tabloid media are obsessed with breaking up marriages - Brad & Ange, Keith & Nicole, any of the Kardashian Klan & their accessories... They've been telling us it's all over for all of them since about a fortnight after their 'Celebrity Wedding of the Year' stories about them

Makes Fox News look factual...

I just got back from Newport, Rhode Island (beautiful place), didn't go near a computer or watch much TV, and you're the first to give me the news about Brangelina. (I guess that combo-name will no longer be used.) I'm really surprised. I thought they'd last. And, Nicole and Keith too? I was hoping they would make it too. :(

Uh, NO, we don't. We need some good news. Boring uber-celebrities ____ & ____ are still married, still happy and have no plans to dies any time soon!! Yea!!

Keith 'n' Nicole are stil together, as far as I know. But if I were to believe the supermarket tabloids, he's been sleeping with everyone on American Idol, doing drugs & alcohol, celebrating years of sobriety & happy marriage, then sleeping with Jennifer Lopez again... while she's been pregnant 4 times, left him, loves him forever, left him again, slept with every director of every movie she makes, gone back to Tom Cruise...

Boring celebrities Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson (Tomita?)... married 20+ years & dull as dishwater... Matthew Broderick & SJ Parker - another one they're always trying to break up because they think SJP actually is Carrie Bradshaw & won't be satisfied until she marries Chris Noth, leaves him, marries him again, leaves him...

How & why do I know all this crap??!!?? Why do I know who Snookie is... surely there are brain surgeons or planetary biologists I could be aware of instead

There's nothing the supermarket tabloids won't say though occasionally losing a lawsuit calms them down. Funny thing is, they do state some things correctly and ahead of the usual sources. Their stories about How I call the dead collect needs to be taken with a grain (or several) of salt.

Funny, I thought of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson tho I didn't mention them. At the time of his death recently, Gene Wilder was married to his wife for 25 years. There really are many couples who can be named. What keeps them together? Let's bottle and sell it.
